Letter to the editor: Visitors see need for clean up

My wife and I have been spending some time ‘down south' to escape our northern snow and cold. As we were driving into Brewton my wife commented on all the roadside litter: &#8220This looks like an Indian reservation.”
We were, therefore, very surprised to find Brewton a neat and prosperous community. We walked the streets, purchased items at several stores, had a meal, enjoyed visits with several of your residents, more ‘window shopping' and then had another leisurely snack before we moved on.
I'm 59 years young and this is my first time to ever write a ‘letter to the editor' - but we were so impressed with your community that I simply wanted to say - you only have one chance to make a first impression and I'd hope your community might consider cleaning up the roadways into Brewton so other travelers will want to stop and discover the quality and charm of Southern living.
