Women's service group to hold district meeting

The upcoming Alabama Federation of Women's Clubs Spring District VII meeting will feature the speaker, Jo Godfrey, the Director of Mary's Shelter on March 24.
The meeting &#8220Spring into Better Health!” hosted by the GFWC Gulf Shores Woman's Club, will be held at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Gulf Shores. Local Federated Women's Clubs from a seven county area represent Alabama's Seven District.
Together, these all-volunteer organizations provide vital volunteer services to their communities. In 2006, these club women completed over 22,935 hours of volunteer service and donated over $155,117.10 to assist their local citizens and communities.
Local projects include new citizenship receptions, fundraiser's to fight Domestic Violence, Elder Care, Pet Shelter Support and Chili Cook Offs. Domestic Violence awareness is this organization's General Federation of Women's Club International President's project.
Local volunteer service clubs include Atmore Woman's Club, GFWC Gulf Shores Juniorette Club, GFWC Gulf Shores Woman's Club, GFWC P.I.N.E.S., GFWC Heritage Junior Woman's Club, Jubilee Woman's Club and Uriah Symposium Woman's Club.
