Mr. Myles William Byrd, 62, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native of Bay Minette, a former resident of McDavid, Fla., and a resident of Century for the past four years. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Carnley; a granddaughter, Summer Carnley; his parents, Verbielee Hall and Harvey Byrd; two brothers, Harvey B. Byrd Jr. and Jimmy Clarence Byrd; a sister, Helen Pugh; and his stepfather, Robert Hall.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Dianne Byrd of Century; two daughters, Donna Kay (Wendell) Carnley of Brewton, and Dianna (Marcus) Godwin of Byrneville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Wendy Kay Carnley, Tracy Carnley, Hunter Godwin and Dusty Carnley; a brother, Carl Byrd of Little Rock; and four sisters, Maxine Legaspi, Eva Nazario and Patricia Lathan, all of Pensacola, Fla., and Lanora McDaniel of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 23, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Shelton Kindig officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery with Petty-Eastside directing. Pallbearers were Bill Eubanks, Mack Byrd, Melvin Byrd, Winston Byrd, Frank Humphreys and Hymie Humphreys. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Grice, Toby Grice, Travis Colville, Buford Wiggins, Carl Godwin, Jimmy Goodwin and Alton Rice.
