Mr. Robert Leo Page Jr., 72, died Friday, March 30m 2007, in a Pensacola hospital. He was a native of Jackson, Ala., and had been a resident of Brewton for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in corporate sales at Container Corporation prior to his retirement. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Brewton; and of the Sons of the American Revolution. He served as scout master of Brewton's Boy Scout Troop 42 and was a recipient of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award, a member of the Order of the Arrow and served as a board member of the Gulf Coast Council of Boy Scouts of America. He was honored as Brewton's Man of the Year in 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Page of Brewton; one son, Robert Leo (Jeanette) Page III; two daughters, Lynda Leigh (Allen) Stringfellow of Brewton, and Nina (Tom) Winkler of Pensacola; one sister, Caroline Rebecca Page (Rodney W.) Byard of Montgomery; and two grandchildren, Robert Leo Page IV and Liberty Page Winkler.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 2, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Brewton with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Mark Sowell, Wesley Wood, Lee Bain, Jim Stark, Charles Everage, Dr. Bob Hayes, Bobby Bardwell and Yancey Jernigan IV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church for various committees or to the Boy Scout Troop 42.
