Mrs. Willie Lee King, 90, of Columbus, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, in Brewton. She was a native of Talbot County, Ga. She was employed with the Muscogee County School District as a dietician with River Read Elementary School, retiring from Matthews Elementary School. She was a member of Forrest Hill congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie M. King; two sons, Eugene and Carl Stanley King; a granddaughter, Sheri King; and her parents, Jim and Savannah Lowe Knowlton.
She is survived by three sons, Roy M. King of Atlanta, Samuel L. King of Columbus and Clifford A. (Sarah) King of Brewton; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Charlie (Wilma) Mitchell of Atlanta; one sister, Susie B. Manuel of Columbus; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, at noon at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Brother Michael Parker officiating. Burial followed at Barn Hill Cemetery n Geneva, Ga. Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directed locally and Progressive Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
