The Brewton City Council will consider a measure Wednesday to rezone the property where Wal-Mart hopes to build a new Supercenter.
The council will meet at 4 p.m. at city hall.
The Brewton Planning Commission has recommended that the land on U.S. 31 be rezoned from residential to business use. Wal-Mart developers will be on hand to answer questions Wednesday.
Mayor Ted Jennings and Councilman Henry Uptagrafft will not vote on the issue because of their ties to the retail giant.
