Members of the Brewton Fire Department are planning an event to benefit one of their own, Greg Tucker.
Tucker, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, has been a member of the firefighting team at the Brewton Fire Department for several years.
The benefit will consist of a motorcycle ride through Escambia County, Weaver said.
The event will get underway Saturday, April 21 beginning with registration at 9:30 a.m.
Riders should register at Kenny's Motor Sports on U.S. 31 South, where the ride will start.
Following the ride and the return to O'Bannon Park, lunch will be available to those who participate. Lunch may also be purchased by those interested in helping raise money for the cause.
Weaver said the lunch will be followed by an old-fashioned auction.
All money raised from the ride, lunch and auction will be donated to Tucker to aid in expenses related to his illness.
For additional information on the ride, or to make a donation, contact the Brewton Fire Department at 867-7165.
