Mrs. Laura Ellen Madden Elder, 70, of Smith Road, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and life long resident of Escambia County. She was of the Community of Christ faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Elder of Castleberry; a special nephew, Charles Edwin Madden of Castleberry; and five sisters, Helen Wilson and Rosa Merchant, both of Brewton, Betty Clayton of Tell City, Ind., Myrtle Pugh of Milton, Fla., and Peggy McCormick of Pollard.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Morris and High Priest Ray Langham officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity or church of choice.
