The National Honor Society at T.R. Miller High School sponsored Prom Promise week to coincide with the school prom held Saturday, April 21.
During the week preceding the prom, students were exposed to information during morning announcements citing the dangers of drinking alcohol, particularly while driving. Students were also taught to make responsible decisions. Statistics and facts were delivered each morning encouraging students to make the right decision regarding underage drinking, especially when the right decision may not be the most obvious one.
During lead-out practice held Friday, students were asked to make the commitment not to drink and drive on prom night. Each student was asked to sign the &#8220Buzz Free” banner as a sign of the promise.
Faculty sponsors for the National Honor Society are Catherine Watson and Shellie Johnson.
