County law enforcement officials have joined with the FBI in investigating a Brewton man on charges of sexual abuse, including incidents that could go beyond Alabama.
Kevin Lake, 44, of 171 Jay Road in Brewton, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, sexual abuse in the first degree and enticing a minor to enter a vehicle, Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith said.
Smith said the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been contacted to continue the investigation into Lake's activities as an alleged multi-state sex offender.
Adam Johnson is the lead investigating officer in the case. He is currently assigned to the Child Advocacy Center.
The investigation is continuing with the cooperation of the FBI office and the U.S. Attorney's office in Mobile.
A bond hearing for Lake was held Tuesday at the Escambia County Courthouse where bond was set at $400,000. In lieu of bond being posted, Lake remains in the Escambia County Detention Center.
