Just about everything the W.S. Neal High School golf team has done this spring has been a first since it last fielded a team back in 2004.
Chalk up two more items in that category Monday when the Blue Eagles finished second in a triangular meet played at the Country Club of Brewton.
The meet was the first home meet for the Blue Eagles since that season. More importantly, W.S. Neal had its first individual medalist.
Junior William Woolen rose to the top of the competition, as he fired a seven-over-par 43.
The Blue Eagles other counters were Blake Bradley with 48, Skylar Gipson with 52 and Alex Smith with 57.
Other participants for the Blue Eagles included Conner Batson, who had a 60, and Ryan Meier, who came in with a 62.
Monroe County took top team honors with a round of 190, while W.S. Neal shot a 199 for the second place position. Excel came in third at 208.
W.S. Neal will be competing in the Class 4A Section Meet at Andalusia Monday.
