A's take over first in EB 9-10; Yanks widen lead

Justin Sessions, Rob Jones and Mike Williams combined for 11 strikeouts to hurl the A's to a 13-11 win over the Cubs in East Brewton Little League Age 9-10 action Monday.
The win enabled the A's (4-3) to break a three-team tie with the Cubs (3-4) and the idle Braves (3-3) for first place.
The Yankees (6-1) widened their lead to a game and a half in the Age 11-12 division over the idle Dodgers (4-2), as they held off the Mets 7-4 thanks to a 10-strikeout performance by Dylan Godwin.
Age 9-10
A's 13, Cubs 11
A'S: Justin Sessions allowed two hits and struck out three to get the win. Mike Williams struck out two and did not allow a hit for a save. Williams and Rob Jones had a single and scored two runs. Drew Bradley had two singles and scored a run. Robin Swift, Dakota Graves and Dalton Shell scored two runs. Sessions and Chris Lowery scored a run.
CUBS: Nick Laster had a single, a triple and scored two runs. Miles Powell had a single, a homerun and scored three runs. Tristan Fore had a single. Brandon Lum scored two runs. Blake McGraw, Cam Morris, Brad Robinson and Emily Ann Cooper scored a run.
Age 11-12
Yankees 7, Mets 4
YANKEES: Dylan Godwin struck out 10 and allowed three hits to get the win. Godwin and Brian Settle had a single, a double and scored a run. Trace Thomas had a single and scored two runs. Dillan Carpenter had a single and scored two runs. Damion Williams had a single, a double and scored two runs.
METS: Tyler Joyner had a single and scored two runs. Dalton Evans had a single and scored a run. Casey Pittman had a single. Chase Kaylor scored a run.
