Mr. Billy Ray Hobbs, 59, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in a Birmingham healthcare facility. He was a native and life long resident of Castleberry and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver and a member of Gloryhill Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Adell Hobbs of Castleberry; his mother, Alliemay Hobbs of Castleberry; three sons, Anthony (Marianne) Hobbs of Excel, Josh Hobbs and Christopher Hobbs. both of Castleberry; one daughter, Serena (Ryan) Terry of Brewton; four sisters, Jean Patterson, Judy Pardon, Myrtis Baker and Loree Burch, all of Castleberry; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May, 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Pitts officiating. Burial followed, with military honors, at Gloryhill Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Brian Burch, Mike Burch, Kevin Burch, David Baker, Jimmy Stanford and John Baker.
