Mrs. Evelyn Louise Rutherford Boatweright, 82, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at a local hospital. She was a native of Westville, Fla., a resident of Atmore since 1986, and attended the Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Rutherford and Amos Boatwright; and a son, Glenn Rutherford.
She is survived by her son, Steve Rutherford of Flomaton; two daughters, Pearl Sells and Mavis McGhee, both of Atmore; five brothers, Gene Gunn of Walnut Hill, Fla., Ben Gunn of Flomaton, Cecil Gunn of Mobile, Earl Gunn of McCullough, and James Gunn of Perdido;10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Freddie Stallworth officiating. Burial will follow at McCullough Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel directing. Pallbearers will be Joshua Turner, DeWitt McGhee, Clifford Comalander, J.W. Condrey, Roger Griffin and Jeff Gunn.
