The City of Brewton's Water Department will cut off the water Monday in the Sowell Road area.
The area affected will begin at 2311 Sowell Road and lead to the intersection of Sowell Road and Kirkland Road. The area includes Woodmere Drive, James Street, Gregory Street, Jewel Lane, Dogwood Lane, Oak Ridge subdivision and Joyner Lane.
The water will be cut off at about 8:30 a.m. and will be off approximately all day, depending on how the work proceeds.
The Water Department will be performing work on a leaking water main in the area. City officials said they apologize for any inconvenience this may cause customers and thank them for their cooperation and understanding during this process. If there are any changes to the schedule, the Water Department will notify the public.
