Poarch has 19 candidates for council

The Poarch Band of Creek Tribal Council Election has 19 declared candidates that are running for three seats in the June 2 election.
The Tribal Council consists of nine members and only three of those seats are up for re-election on an annual basis.
The expiring terms this year belong to Robert R. McGhee, Rodney Exum and Patricia Hodges. Hodges is not running for reelection.
Individuals running for the three seats are: William L. Bailey, Rose McGhee Coon, Rodney Exum, David Gehman, Helen Hallman, Douglas Kelley, Tracy D. Linam, Dewey L. McGhee, Mal Dewayne McGhee, Robert “Robbie” McGhee, Rodney L. McGhee, Terri Albritton Morris, Keesha O'Barr, Timothy Ramer, Janet Rodriquez, William Thomas Rolin, Berry L. Ross, Garvis Eugene Sells and Donna Sue Walker-Marquardt.
Walk-in voting began May 3. Members that will be out of town the day of the election, or those that live outside of the area, can come and vote Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The walk-in voting will end May 29 at 5 p.m. This will be held at Building 200 on the PCI Reservation. Absentee ballots were sent out beginning May 3.
