On May 5, 15 schools participated in the District 8, Alabama Bandmasters Solo and Ensemble.
The event was hosted at T.R. Miller High School.
The day opened for many of the students at 8 a.m. and concluded around 2:30 p.m. for the last school attending.
Brewton Middle School, under the direction of James Holmes, earned a total of 102 superiors. T.R. Miller, under Major's direction, earned 141 superiors. Combined superior ratings from the Brewton City Schools were 243 superiors.
