Bus driver seeks help with county roads

A school bus driver pleaded for help with road conditions Monday at the Escambia County Commission meeting.
Smith also told commissioners the trash along the sides of the roads is also a problem.
Smith said with the end of the school year so close at hand, fixing the problems wouldn't happen during this term.
Although McGougin Road is not the only road in the county that is in need of repairs or resurfacing, Todd Williamson, commissioner for the McGougin Road area, said it is on the list for repairs.
The area in question is divided between District 1 and District 2. Commission Chairman David Stokes is the commissioner for District 1, while Williamson serves District 2.
Stokes said the county has a lot of area to cover when dumping is taken under consideration.
Stokes told Smith to take note on the problems she contacts in the area of dumping and to report any activity she may witness.
