Mr. Roland &#8220Sonny” McLain, 76, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native of McDavid, Fla., a former resident of Bratt, Fla., and a resident of Flomaton for the past two years. He attended the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Keith McLain.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eulene Hanks McLain of Flomaton; two sons, Rick (Stacie) McLain of Tuscaloosa, and Mark (Darlene) McLain of Cantonment, Fla.; a daughter, Kathy (Joey) Jones of Fenton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Ragan (Jack) Christian of Birmingham, Shelley (Louis) LeBlanc of Tuscaloosa, Kristen McLain of Auburn, Linsey McLain of Cantonment, and Jacob Jones of Fenton; three brothers, William Earl McLain of Mobile, and John McLain and James McLain, both of Century, Fla.; three sisters, Virginia Singleton of Pensacola, and Joanne Igo and Patsy Magaha, both of Jay, Fla., and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Shamblin officiating. Burial followed at Christian Home Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Cox, Tommy Cox, Steve Cox, Chester Gunn, Lloyd Barrow and Charlie Lowery.
