Double training for double activities has done nothing to take away T.R. Miller junior softball player and cheerleader Amelia Couture's performance in the classroom.
Couture worked her way into the Lady Tigers' everyday lineup this spring in multiple roles. Couture saw most of her field time in right field, but also saw playing time at second base. When Couture did not serve as a position player, she served as T.R. Miller's designated hitter.
Couture, who has performed as a cheerleader the past two years, said she has to train for her activities in different ways.
Couture's cheerleading and softball seasons overlap, but White said there was never any problem with her doing the two activities at the same time.
Couture said both White and T.R. Miller cheerleader sponsor Beverly Haveard have had a big influence on her athletic career.
Couture said another person who is an influence on her athletic career is brother Avery Couture, who is an eighth grade student at Brewton Middle School.
Couture said her favorite subject in school is math.
Couture is currently leaning towards studying news broadcasting and performing arts in college.
