City school board approves several personnel changes

T.R. Miller High School will be looking for a new band director soon, part of the many personnel changes the Brewton City School Board approved at its meeting Monday night.
Band Director Carl Major submitted his resignation to the school board. Other teachers resigning include: Lisa Peace, Brewton Elementary kindergarten teacher; Chris Johnson, BES art teacher; Celeste Slaughter, BES third-grade teacher; William Stallworth, Brewton Middle School assistant principal; Alan Ash, BMS eighth grade social science teacher; and Shannon Woodfin, T.R. Miller art teacher.
The school board hired three new teachers: Gerald McAnally, BMS social science teacher; Luke Manning, BMS band director; and Jessica Oxendine, TRM social science teacher.
Contract renewals included: Dana McKenzie, kindergarten; Vicki Barrentine, second grade; Andrea Carpenter, first grade; Heidi Knapp, second grade; Alisa Thomas, fourth grade; Greg White, BES physical education; Marc Edge, BES P.E.; Shari Lynn, BES kindergarten; Tracey Lowery, third grade; Terri Perryman, fifth grade; Daniel Wilson, BMS P.E.; Madelyn Cave, BMS language arts; Karen Kirkland, BMS math; Myra Tatano, BMS math; Gabriela Miller, BMS art; Donna Couture, sixth grade; Eddie Brundidge, BMS P.E.; Cindy Ward, fifth grade; Julia Clements, TRM social science; Doug Gerety, TRM social science; Lisa Lovelady, TRM family and consumer science; Flannery Stanford, TRM English; Catherine Watson, TRM math; Wade Morris; TRM science; Gina McIntyre, TRM English; Amy Dullard, TRM English; and Becky Edge, TRM counselor.
The school board did not renew contracts for Wendy Riley, second grade, and Debra Conlee, seventh grade language arts.
Three T.R. Miller teachers will transfer to new courses: Wade Morris from physical science and applied chemistry to physical science and environmental science; Gina McIntyre from English III and Advanced English III to English 11, Honors English 11 and English 9; and Amy Dullard, from English IV, Advanced English IV and AP English to English 12, Honors English 12, AP English and English 9.
The board also approved three coaches' resignations of their supplemental contracts for Brewton Middle School softball, but coach Greg White said the change was made to accommodate a new title for the program: junior varsity.
