Mrs. Verna Ilene Rhoden Hartsfield, 82, of Travis Road, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Plant City, Fla., and a former resident of Ft. Pierce, Fla., before moving to Brewton. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Pace, Fla., and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Hartsfield of Brewton; a son, Daniel (Karen) Hartsfield of Columbia, Mo.; three daughters, Linda (Rev. Joseph) Johnson of Brewton, Kathryn (Eugene) Davis of Vero Beach, Fla., and Patricia (Travis) Williams of Ft. Pierce; three half brothers, Ronald Rhoden, Gerald Rhoden and Lamar Rhoden, all of Ft. Pierce; one half sister, Beverly Edge of Ft. Pierce; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Johnson and the Rev. John Hancock officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
