In recognition of his accomplishments, Baxley Raines, a 2007 graduate of T.R. Miller High School, has been awarded the Troy University Excellence in Leadership Award.
The scholarship recognizes excellence in academic pursuits, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
Buddy Starling, Dean Enrollment Management, stated in the notification letter to Raines that they were very pleased to offer the scholarship.
Raines is the son of Baxley and Marilyn Raines of Brewton.
He is the grandson of Earl and Betty Johnson of Brewton, and Bernie and Edith Raines of East Brewton.
