Mrs. Ethel Andrews Turner, 102, died Sunday, June 3, 2007, in a local hospital. She was a native of Grove Hill and a resident of the Pollard-Flomaton communities since 1923. She was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church, the Eastern Star and had been an Avon representative. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Turner Sr.; two sons, Earl and Hollis Turner; two daughters, Jewel Mills and Nell Davis; one granddaughter, Brenda Seward and one great grandson, Lance Dwicke.
She is survived by a son, Chester (Fay) Turner Jr. of Stockton; three daughters, Lenace Carnley of Century, Fla., Elizabeth Hansen of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Bobbie (Walter) Hedson of Evergreen; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Pollard Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
