Learning and executing the fundamentals of the game are the biggest items Greg White emphasizes to his teams.
White will now be issuing that message to the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers volleyball team. He fills the vacancy created when preceding coach Sharon Peacock resigned after five seasons on the job.
While this is White's first taste of high school volleyball coaching, he is not a total stranger to the sport. White coached the Brewton Middle School program the last two years.
White said he is fortunate to be moving into a position where several items are already in place.
White, who is also the head softball coach at T.R. Miller as well as girls basketball coach at Brewton Middle School, has already done some summer work with his players.
White inherits a T.R. Miller volleyball program that has gone 38-25 the last two years. That includes a 17-13 mark, a school record 11-game winning streak and postseason advancement to the sub-state round.
