East Brewton-based Bakies Bake Shop is expanding.
The business will open a new cupcake shop at Cordova Mall in Pensacola, Fla., on Friday.
"It's a really great opportunity," said co-owner Chris McClelland. "That's what I've always wanted to do. You have to expand."
McClelland, who continues to live in Brewton, is planning to travel to Pensacola every morning to run the shop, which will also feature a variety of soups in addition to the cupcakes.
The shop will be located at the food court at Cordova Mall and is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Friday morning.
