Brewton officials are sticking by their commitment to band billboards in residential areas.
Tom Davis of Studio 205 Inc., a sign company, asked the city council Tuesday night if it would be possible for him to replace some of the signs lost after Hurricane Ivan.
Davis's company was one of at least two that took city officials to court after the storm damaged their signs and the city refused to allow them to replace them, citing a new sign ordinance that prevented billboards in residential areas.
The state Supreme Court later upheld lower court rulings to remove the signs.
Davis asked the council if he could move some of his signs elsewhere in the city, although not in residential areas. &#8220Not only is my company affected by these actions, but other businesses in town
