Brewton's run in the Little League Age 9-10 District 5 Tournament came to an end Tuesday when it lost 11-1 in four innings to Andalusia.
Andalusia had just three hits in the game, but benefited from 12 walks issued by four Brewton pitchers.
Andalusia got a three-run, inside-the-park homerun from Hunter Earnest in the bottom of the first inning and never relinquished the lead. Earnest's homerun was later turned into a two-run double when he was called out for failing to touch third base.
Brewton, which also only got three hits against Andalusia pitchers Jacob Lee, Brayden Burkhardt and Lane Sirmon, cut its deficit in half in the top of the second when it scored its lone run. Kellyn Winn walked, Trin Miller beat out an infield single and Luke Agerton hit an RBI double.
Andalusia stretched its lead to 6-1 with four runs in the bottom of the second despite the fact it had only one hit, a leadoff single by Devan McDuffie. Andalusia received four walks that inning and also benefited from an error committed by the Brewton defense.
Four walks and a wild pitch led to two more Andalusia runs in the third, while a walk, single by Lee and an outfield error turned into three Andalusia runs in the fourth that kicked the 10-run rule into effect.
