Mr. Earl Eugene Roberson, 85, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, in Flomaton. He was a native of Roberts, a former resident of Moyeville, and a resident of Flomaton, for the past 18 years. He was a retired veteran of World War II, retired from Fore Sand and Gravel Company and attended the Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife, 66 years, Mary Maggalene Moye Roberson of Flomaton; his daughter, Mattie Lou Robbins of Flomaton; his son, Aubrey Eugene (Shirley &#8220Pug”) Roberson of Poarch; five grandchildren, Angie (Tony) Gresham, Kimberly Forbus, Marlene (David) McNairn, James Roberson, and Chad (Chastity) Robbins; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Harlon Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Traveler's Rest Cemetery with Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were J.C. Moye, Darryl Fore, Tony Gresham, Jack Knowles, David McNairn and Troy W. Brown. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons, Ronald Burkett, Jason Forbus, Chad Robbins, Justin Forbus, James Roberson, Reece McNairn, Drake Robbins and Micah McNairn.
