The curtain will rise on Friday and Saturday night to bring the first of what the Brewton Community Theatre group hopes will be many performances.
A group of actors and behind-the-scenes personnel have worked for three months in preparation for the presentation of Tom Sawyer this weekend. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday night with curtain time a 7 p.m. for both shows. The show will be presented at Woodfin Patterson Auditorium on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community College.
Gleaton said individual rehearsals for various scenes have been held on the Brewton campus of Alabama State University. Those rehearsals have been held since mid-April following auditions.
Gleaton said preparation for the performance has been moving along at a good pace and everything is ready for this weekends presentation.
Gleaton said Dr. Jim Dixon has worked especially hard preparing the set for the performance with help from Barbara Harvey.
Admission for either performance is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
