Brewton Police continue to investigate the discovery of a body last Wednesday at a house on East Jackson Street.
Thomas Keith McConnico, 48, was found dead at his home on Wednesday just after 8 p.m., police said.
Nicholson said initially the body was identified as a John Doe but was later identified as McConnico.
Nicholson said McConnico's body was transported to Mobile to the Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
Funeral arrangements for McConnico were not known at press time Tuesday.
