Friday morning found regular customers of the Book and Bean gathered as usual as the final day of business began for the downtown coffee and book store.
Owners Leza Nelson and Kathy McMillan have made a decision to close the store and move toward other adventures.
A variety of people have gathered at the downtown business since it's beginning four years ago. Conversations have been known to vary from politics, religion and current affairs.
The women, who sat at the table up front, said much the same thing.
As for the new beginnings Nelson and McMillan are planning, Nelson will be serving as the youth director at First United Methodist Church of Brewton, while McMillan plans to spend more time at home with her family.
The pair started the business as strangers four years ago, but have become the best of friends according to Nelson.
Coffee drinkers, as well as other customers of the Book and Bean will be on the search for a new place to gather for their morning coffee and conversation sessions.
The business, which was located on the boardwalk in downtown Brewton, closed the door after the final customer at noon on Friday.
