A recent trip to Paris yielded contacts for possible suppliers for an aircraft manufacturer that will likely land in Mobile, Coastal Gateway Economic Development Authority Director Wiley Blankenship said.
Blankenship said he was part of meetings set up by the Alabama Development Authority but also met independently with some industries. Many of the meetings concerned EADS, which the state hopes will build an aircraft plant in Mobile.
“Hopefully that announcement will be soon,” Blankenship said.
Blankenship said Mobile officials have been inclusive of surrounding communities who could also benefit from the EADS project.
