Squad seeks funds

Escambia Fire and Rescue Squad will be going door-to-door in the area asking for donations to aid in the operation of the squad.
Those who donate $35 or more will be given a coupon redeemable for a free color portrait. For additional information call 867-9000, 212-0089, 363-3055 or 238-1168.
Also in need of funds for operation and repair expenses, the Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department will host a yard sale on Aug. 4.
The event will be staged on the grounds of the Auto Clinic in the Riverview community.

She left the newspaper business in 1973 and has won a number of awards over the years. The Kathryn Tucker Windham Museum in Thomasville has been dedicated in her honor.
