Mrs. Semmie G. Johnson Jones, 86, of Young Street, died Monday, July 9, 2007, in a Bay Minette medical facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Gantt and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a member of Brewton First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Graham &#8220Bear” Jones; a son, Urban Jones, and a daughter, Rachel Jones.
She is survived by a daughter, Pam Jones of Birmingham; two brothers, Nick Johnson of Andalusia, and Bud Johnson of Dozier; and a sister, Jimmie Rainier of Birmingham.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at Brooklyn Baptist Church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. John Finklea officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Floral contributions will be accepted or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice in Brewton.
