Mr. William Al Winchester, 56, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton and was a retired electrician. He was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church and a 1969 graduate of W.S. Neal High School. He was preceded in death by his son, Corp. Christopher D. Winchester.
He is survived by his father and mother, Leo and Janell Winchester of Brewton; a son, Greg Winchester of Brewton; a daughter, Allison (Paul) Murphy of Brewton; a brother, Paxton C. Winchester of Brewton; a sister, Martha Hyde of Slidell, La.; and five grandchildren, Brandon Winchester, Madison Winchester, Hayden Winchester, Tyler Murphy and Eric Murphy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
