Amy Madsen, who was indicted on eight counts of preparing false tax returns in February, found herself briefly back in jail last week.
Madesn once again arrested and charged with three counts of filing false tax returns and six counts of assisting in preparing fraudulent tax returns.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department, these were new cases that came down from the grand jury.
Masden was placed under a $25,000 bond. She was able to pay the bond and was released.
In February of this year, Masden was indicted by the grand jury for eight counts of filing false tax returns and preparing fraudulent tax returns.
Her bond of $250,000 was reduced to $25,000 with the understanding that she file no more tax returns and to return all of the customer tax documents. At that time, when the bond was reduced, Masden was able to secure her bond.
According to Sheriff Grover Smith, her bond was revoked in March because she had not followed the terms of the bond reduction.
The new charges made Aug. 3 are in addition to the original eight counts she was indicted with in February, authorities said.
