Brewton area medical professionals said they have seen few people suffering from heat-related problems in the emergency room or doctors' offices, but they urged people to continue to take precautions.
Regina Watson, who is the director of the emergency room at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, says they have had no one brought in an emergency situation, at least not yet.
Dr. Jonathan Southworth said he is surprised he has not seen patients suffering from the heat, but he said heat conditions are still dangerous.
Danny Cottrell, owner of Medical Center Pharmacy agrees.
Dr. Marina Thompson, a new pediatrician in Brewton, said she worries about younger children.
Weather forecasts show a slight break in the heat by the weekend, with temperatures dipping into the lower 90s by Saturday and Sunday.
