Kim Owens has not backed down from challenges during her 30 years of service within the Brewton City School system.
She was the first coach of the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers basketball team. Owens has also had either head or assistant coaching roles with T.R. Miller tennis, track, golf and softball. She also once served as cheerleader sponsor.
Owens is venturing into new territory again this fall as the new Brewton Middle School Lady Tigers volleyball coach. She will also assist T.R. Miller coach Greg White, who moved up from the middle school to take over the high school program this season.
Owens is excited about her latest athletic challenge.
Owens said it would not be difficult getting familiar with her BMS players.
While Owens obviously wants her team to win as many games as it can this season, she said that is not the number one goal.
Owens will make her BMS debut Aug. 27 when the Lady Tigers visit Flomaton.
