Three students attending Escambia County Alternative School on the Flomaton High School campus were suspended from school Wednesday after the school received a bomb threat from a cell phone.
The three teenagers, all students of W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, have already faced consequences for their actions and face more consequences from the Escambia County School Board.
Officials did not release the names of the students.
Hines said the actions of the three are unacceptable and will not be tolerated in Escambia County's schools.
Hines said the bomb threat against the Alternative School essentially shut down three schools on Wednesday.
Hines said the prank not only put the schools in a state of emergency, but put local law enforcement on alert, too.
Hines said the call was made from a cell phone and was traced by officials.
According to reports, the 911 bomb threat was not the first prank call made from the cell phone.
According to information from the Escambia County Juvenile Probation office, the three juveniles have been charged with making a false report of an incident, which is a class A misdemeanor.
They have also been charged with making a bomb threat, which is a class C felony. The trio was also charged with making a terrorist threat disrupting school activities, which is a class C felony.
