Two bogus bomb threats were made last week to a Brewton hotel, as preparations were made to host job interview sessions by officials with Georgia Pacific.
According to Brewton Police Chief Monte McGougin, bomb threats were called into the Brewton Inn Thursday and Sunday of last week.
McGougin said the department is conducting an investigation into the calls, but no suspects have been named. He said the threats could have been made in connection with upcoming interviews of potential employees by Georgia-Pacific officials. Georgia-Pacific announced earlier this month it plans to buy the Smurfit-Stone mill in Brewton.
McGougin said the hotel has a large number of incoming phone lines at the facilities location on Douglas Avenue.
Brewton Inn manager Lisa Schlomann had no comment.
