Mr. Joseph Francis Pittman, 89, died in an assisted living residence Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007. He was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Roseville, Calif., and Fort Walton, Beach, Fla., before moving to Abbeville in 2004. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired as an aircraft mechanic in Roseville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Scoggins Pittman; a sister, Flora Ethel Pittman Koon and two brothers, John Allen Pittman and Robert Pittman.
He is survived by three nieces, Ann Koon Masten and Robin Pittman Allen, both of Brewton, and Pamela Pittman Ward of Decatur.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. at Wagerville Baptist Cemetery, Wagerville, with Holman Abbeville Mortuary directing.
