Cozy up for a great meal

If it's been a while since you've dined at the Cozy Corner in East Brewton, you may be surprised at what you find there.
The Cozy Corner is located on Florida Street in East Brewton, right next door to their old location. The renovated building the restaurant now calls home has plenty of space for any dining experience you may need.
Al Wood, owner of The Cozy Corner, has been in business since November 1999 and opened in the current location in June 2006.
The building has plenty of space for parties and banquets while giving individual customers plenty of space to enjoy their meal in a peaceful setting.
The Fort Crawford Room is available for banquets or other gatherings. The area will seat 26 to 32 people and offers privacy for your event. If a smaller, more intimate space you may consider using The Murder Creek Room. The area seats 12 to 15 people and is available for any event you may choose. Although every effort will be made to accommodate your needs, remember to contact the folks at The Cozy Corner to make your reservations.
For the techies in the family, you'll be happy to know that The Cozy Corner offers wireless Internet service. Televisions are situated throughout the restaurant for enjoyment during your meal.
Not only does The Cozy Corner offer a variety of dining room options for patrons, they have a wide variety of menu items that will please the finickiest of eaters.
Wood said the food prepared and served by the employees at the restaurant will be freshly prepared to your liking at a price that is sure to please.
The house specialty at The Cozy Corner is the cheeseburger special. You can even get a special card that will allow you to get a free cheeseburger special. Purchase nine specials and get the tenth free.
Another specialty you'll find at The Cozy Corner is the gravy fries. This is not your usual side dish. Order the gravy fries and you'll get a heaping helping of French fries covered with the special flavor that only The Cozy Corner gravy can provide.
The buffet is available Sunday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is also a special buffet card that allows you to receive the tenth buffet free after purchasing nine.
You'll find a variety of dinners ranging from typical fare of hamburger steaks and fried chicken to more specialized tastes of steaks and seafood.
You'll find an extensive children's menu that offers the usual hamburger and chicken tenders, but for more developed taste buds you'll find shrimp and country fried steak on the children's menu as well.
For a quick daily lunch, you'll find a wide variety of daily specials. With prices ranging from $3.40 to $3.99, getting a hot lunch won't damage your budget. All specials are served with fries and a drink all at one low price. The specials are: Monday - BLT with soup; Tuesday - Cheeseburger; Wednesday - Grilled Chicken Sandwich; Thursday - Cozy Club (ham, bacon and cheese); Friday - Fish Sandwich; Saturday - Hamburger; Sunday - Fried Steak.
If you have a hearty appetite, you may consider trying something extraordinary - The Jordan Burger. The burger has three pieces of meat, three pieces of cheese and six strips of bacon - enough to even fill the bottomless stomach of any teenager.
For Sunday diners, you'll find something special waiting for you after church. Those patrons who bring in their church bulletin or printed program receive a 10 percent discount on their Sunday dinner.
Any item you find on the menu at The Cozy Corner is available to go. Just add 25 cents to your order and it will be packed in special containers so your meal gets to your home or office hot and ready to eat.
Wood has a special recipe for a cassrole that any cook an prepare. It's one of his favorites.
Tater Tot Casserole
Take 1 pound of hamburger meat. Cook done and break it up like taco meat. Add a can of cream of mushroom soup and simmer. While hamburger is simmering, take one pound of hash rounds or tater tots and fry to a crisp. After this process, take the meat and place in a square pan and spread evently. Place tater tots on top of meat. Take shredded cheese of your choice and spread over the top of the tater tots. Place in oven until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and serve.

The Cozy Corner is located at 102 Florida Street in East Brewton and is open seven days a week. Hours are from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday.
