Lady Warhawks snap ACCC slide

One by one the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball team is getting rid of some ugly losing streaks.
Last weekend JDCC snapped a 29-game overall losing streak when it beat Southern Union at the Gadsden State Tournament.
The Lady Warhawks snapped another 29-game slide, this one in Alabama Community College Conference action, when they knocked off Southern Union again, this time at Brewton, Thursday with a 30-15, 30-24, 18-30, 21-30, 16-14. It was JDCC's first ACCC win since it knocked off Lawson State, Sept. 15, 2005.
Brittney Rogers and Jessica Johnson both had 15 service points to lead the Lady Wahawks. They also shared the hitting lead with seven kills each.
The Lady Warhawks dropped a 30-19, 30-24, 30-18 non-conference decision at home to Gulf Coast, Fla. College Tuesday.
Jessica Johnson led JDCC with 12 points, while Jasmine Jackson added eight. Emily Doty and Johnson both had seven kills to lead the hitting, while Jackson added six.
JDCC dropped a 24-30, 30-26, 31-29, 30-24 ACCC decision at home to Bevill State Friday. No individual stats were available at presstime.
The Lady Warhawks (1-2 in ACCC play and 2-5 overall) entertains Lawson State Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in an ACCC game.
