An early morning fire Monday at Smurfit-Stone container mill left some damage to a paper machine, but no injuries.
Gary Miller, manager of the facility, said the nature of Monday’s fire was not uncommon in such an industry.
Miller said although the damage was kept to a minimum, repairs were required to continue operations.
The Brewton Fire Department responded to the fire just after 5 a.m. Monday. The fire was quickly contained and no injuries were reported according to fire officials.
