When head girls basketball coach Steve Lambert arrived at W.S. Neal High School two years ago, he found a group of committed student athletes practicing and playing in less than desirable conditions.
On Monday, the school was awarded a state Community Services Grant to improve the dressing room and purchase practice and game equipment. The $5,00 grant was announced Monday by Speaker of the House Seth Hammett.
Principal Philip Ellis expressed his appreciation for the grant.
Lambert said the grant will help girls basketball on par with the boys program.
