Youth football wins two, plans homecoming

The Brewton Youth football teams took two of three games from Bellview Saturday.
The Mini Mites lost 26-6 as the Mites won 25-6, and the Midgets won 41-19.
In the Mini Mite’s game, Brewton’s only score came on a 55-yard touchdown run by D’Angelo Thomas.
In the Mites win, the Brewton offense was led by Markail Mitchell who had two rushing touchdowns on the day and over 100 yards rushing. Treylon Watson had a 45-yard touchdown run along with a 20-yard rushing touchdown from Kellyn Winn. Mykail Johnson, Chardian Johnson, Charles Cooper and Kevin Martindale led Brewton’s defense.
In the Midgets win, Brewton’s offense was led by running back Eric Maye with three touchdowns and over 200 yards rushing. Kameron Coleman had two rushing touchdowns and over 100 yards rushing on the day. Dominique Jackson added a 45-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Kieon Smith. Montel Montgomery, Ivory Miller, Cadarius Fountain and David Barragan led the Midgets defense.
Saturday, the Brewton Tigers will celebrate homecoming when they host Northwest Escambia. The Brewton Mini Mites will kick off the day at noon followed by the Mites at 2 p.m. The Midgets will wrap up the day at 4 p.m. Homecoming festivities will begin an hour before each game.
