Mrs. Beatrice W. Hoomes, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, in a local nursing facility. She was a native of Itawamba County, Miss., but had resided in the Brewton area for most of her life. She was a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husband, James Bruce Hoomes.
She is survived by a stepson, Rufus Hoomes of Robertsdale; a stepdaughter, Ruby Dell of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Mary Roberts of Ocean Springs, Miss., a sister, Ruby Childers of Fulton, Miss.; and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Renick and the Rev. Jimmy Willey officiating. Burial followed at Hoomes Family Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
