Mr. Charlie Louis Odom, 68, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at West Florida Hospital. He was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church was retired from the Transit Authority in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Odom; his brothers, Reavy Odom Sr., Harvey Odom Sr. and Richard Odom Sr.
He is survived by two daughters, Valerie (Robert) Smith of Flomaton, and Veronica (Herman) Hamilton of Union, Ken.; one sister, Frances (John) Gabriel of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Solomon Odom and Nathaniel Odom, both of Flomaton; and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Damascus Baptist Church in Flomaton with the Rev. Henry Hawkins officiating. Burial followed at Fannie/Damascus Cemetery in Flomaton with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
