Mr. Charley McDonald, 72, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at a Santa Rosa County hospital. He was a native of Pensacola, Fla., and a resident of Century for the past 27 years. He was retired from the United States Army after 22 years, and retired from the Escambia County, Florida Sheriff’s Department. He attended the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Mathis McDonald of Century; four sons, Michael McDonald of Century, Stephen Anthony McDonald of Landshut, Germany, Andre McDonald of Karlsruhe, Germany, and David Lee McDonald of Calif.; two daughters, Malinda Dee McDonald and Marion Anita Messing, both of Landshut; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, John McDonald, George McDonald, and Sidney McDonald, all of Pace, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jeff Dwenger and Bro. Gilbert Cozart offictiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with military honors and Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
